Inaugural Cyber Defence and Security exhibition to be held in Langkawi next year

LANGKAWI: Once every two years, this legendary island plays host to the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace exhibition (Lima), with each edition taking place in odd-numbered years.

Now, Alpine Integrated Technologies Sdn Bhd intends to make the island famous for another exhibition to be conducted biennially just like Lima, only on even-numbered years.

The inaugural Cyber Defence and Security Exhibition and Conference (CYDES 2020) is slated to take place in March next year at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre.

US ups pressure on Europe over 5G infrastructure from China's Huawei

The US upped pressure on Europe Wednesday to avoid turning to Huawei for 5G telecom infrastructure, with a top commander saying NATO forces would cease communicating with their German colleagues if Berlin teams up with the Chinese firm.

The US and several other Western nations, fearful of the security risks posed by a company closely tied to the Chinese government, have shut Huawei out of tenders for the development of super-fast fifth-generation, or 5G, networks.

SAN FRANCISCO—Between cyberattacks against power grids and election influence campaigns, nations are increasingly waging war through the internet with the rest of us stuck in the middle. At RSA, experts pondered what, if anything, can be done to make everyone play nice.

RSA bug artThe main concern for panelists was how to enforce norms and agreements between countries about what they can and cannot do online. One method is to form a coalition of countries to unanimously and publicly condemn the actions of another country. This is especially true with the use of sanctions.

"Our sanctions policy is that much stronger when other countries join us in those sanctions," said Rob Strayer, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cyber and International Communications and Information Policy at the US State Department.

Aerospace corp Elbit Systems Breached, 10,000 accounts leaked

Israel is no stranger to cyber incidents and today a user on twitter has posted over 10,000 accounts from a aerospace and defense corporation Elbit Systems.

The leak was announced by @Th3Falcon earlier today and was posted to privatebin.net with over 10,000 credentials for users and administors from elbit systems.

Data in the leak contains first name and last name in both english and hebrew aswell as email addresses, encrypted passwords and other site related data such as account creation dates, toolbar status and administrator access. Total number of rows is 10,986.
