Qassim Soleimani: What are Iran’s cyber warfare capabilities?

The assassination of Iranian General Qassim Soleimani by a US airstrike in the early hours of Friday morning is set to cause the greatest escalation of tensions in the Middle East for decades.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has already warned of a “harsh retaliation” for the “martyrdom” of Soleimani, the leader of Iran’s elite Quds Force and widely believed to be Supreme Leader in waiting.

It is a threat that should not be taken lightly. While Iran’s traditional military is outgunned by the US, the country has emerged as a power in “asymmetric warfare” using unconventional tactics to target its enemies.
